I know that Kotaku article and I know the trash they write. They are just people like you and me and have no business acumen whatsoever. So using them as authority is really silly, especially seeing as they made the same mistake alot of people do and misinterpretted some PR.

MS did stuff the channel quite largely at the end of 06. As a result in the first quarter of 07 they only sold 0.5 million worldwide.
However channel stuffing was not invented by MS and every coumpany does it if needs be. I don't like MS but surely you can see that sony channel stuffed at the end of 08 and nintendo did quite a few times in the GC era. Its not necessarily a bad thing it just means demand through the year was not quite as high as antic...

agreed! - I love my gamecube - sure it wasn't a commercial success but it had some of the best game i've ever played.
No one has failed this gen. The wii will certainly pass 100 million and could get anywhere.
The 360 has sold 35 million, easily beating the original and will surely reach at least 60 million.
The ps3 has showed huge improvement now its at a decent price and will too at least reach 60-70 million, probably more....

Well if the wii is as bad as most people on here make it out then you'd think people would have realised this by now and not 60 million consoles later.

Yes cos the ps3 costs as much as a ferrari and the wii costs about $100,000 less and is roughly equivelent to a civic. Yes good comparison there.
True but then consumers would see you get more from the ps3 (blu ray) which should even it out. You cannot just look at price alone.
The fact is that more people saw value in the wii to buy it than the ps3 and both were way ahead of the xbox in Japan.
Imagine you are in 2006, you wouldn't have believed how well the wii has done.

You obviously do not know about the supply constraints of business. I suggest lookin up Nintendo's case and then you may see the efforts they went to to increase supply.

I've been having fun playing Uncharted 2 and NSMB wii. I had the best of both worlds.

I don't think the 360 will be second this gen. But its nice to see the paranoid sony defence out once again. The ps3 is ahead in Europe but the 360 holds its own just fine. In Europe it does nowhere near aswell as NA but alot better than Japan. Its a middle territory for MS. Europe also happens to be Sony's best region. I wouldn't go complaining about ignorance by showing ignorance of your own. The ps3 has been doing fine all along but it is not crushing the 360 in the EU. If it was it would have become 2nd in worldwide sales. And it just hasn't. Sorry.
